Unfortunately I haven't figured out if it is possible to have the blog show in chronological order.

My daughter and her friend at the end of the tour.

My daughter and her choir director, Mrs. Jacobs. She is a wonderful person and a gifted teacher of music.

Dr. Jacobs in a sea of singers.

...and then the children's choir.

Joined by the Philharmonic choir.

A performance with the Hawaiian choir seen earlier in Beijing.

The last performance -- by the time the evening was done all the seniors and quite of few of the parents were crying.

The Children's Chorus of the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra. They were so great!

The Shanghai Concert

In Old Town you can find all sorts of merchandise.

Old Town in Shanghai

This tea shop has dozens of varieties of tea. Some are aged for over 60 years. There were customers from Germany, Russia, and France in the store buying specialized teas when I was there.

The Garden in Shanghai

A demonstration of how they make silk comforters. (They are very comfortable!)

The Silk Factory

A demonstration at the Silk Factory of how silk cocoons are cooked, and then the silk fiber is spun. It was very hot!

The monks praying.

More prayers.

A pair of monks.

The temple was filled with worshippers and tourists. It was a beautiful place.

The windows in the staircase looked out on a beautiful courtyard.

A picture of a former president.

There were skylights in the ceiling.

The Jade Budda was on the higher floor of the temple so we had to wait in line on the stairs to see the Budda. While waiting we saw several objects that were made to honor Budda. Here is a sculpture.

The Temple of the Jade Budda

While in Shanghai we visited the Temple of the Jade Budda.

Notice the name of the mall "A Better Life."
